Betty’s story starts in April of 2017 when she received devastating news – she has Stage 4 lung cancer. Since, Betty has battled the disease with chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiation. Despite debilitating side effects and hospitalizations early on Betty has responded well and is now a two year survivor.
Sadly, many members of Betty’s immediate and extended family have been afflicted by the ravages of cancer. Early in 2019, Betty’s brother was also diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer and, like Betty, started his fight by going on chemo and now immunotherapy.
Motivated by the compassion of those sharing her cancer journey, and seeing the impact it has had on those she loves, Betty decided to support cancer research by using her passion for mixed media arts and starting Stage4Creations.
Stage4Creations is a line of handmade greeting cards that specialize in messages to share with those recently diagnosed – when the words are hard to come by. With an artistic flair, Betty hand makes each and every card herself, along with hand painted coasters and trivets that compliment her line of greeting cards.
Paying it forward, Betty donates a share of Stage4Creations proceeds to cancer research organizations in hopes of beating, once and for all, this awful disease.
